UniCredit Bank Romania Signs EUR 100 Million Financing Facility with the European Investment Bank to Support SMEs and Mid-Caps

UniCredit Bank Romania and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a EUR 100 million financing agreement aimed at supporting investments made by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Caps in Romania. The facility will help improve access to financing for Romanian companies, with a particular focus on innovation and digitalization projects, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy and accelerating technological transformation.
The funds will be used to finance investments and development needs of eligible companies across various sectors of the economy, contributing to increased private investment, job creation, and the strengthening of Romania’s business environment resilience. This new collaboration reconfirms the long-standing partnership between UniCredit Bank Romania and the European Investment Bank, focused on facilitating access to financing for companies that contribute to the sustainable development of the Romanian economy.
