Announcement regarding the communication of the Competition Council's decision
On 28 September 2026, UniCredit Bank S.A. ("UniCredit") received from the Romanian Competition Council the sanctioning decision together with its supporting reasoning, issued following the investigation initiated ex officio on 24 October 2022 regarding an alleged agreement and/or concerted practice relating to the coordinated setting of the ROBOR rate by the ten banks participating in the determination of this benchmark rate within the fixing procedure.
UniCredit reiterates that it has complied and continues to comply fully with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and that its conduct has at all times been strictly aligned with the principles governing the market in which it operates. In order to protect its legitimate interests, UniCredit will make use of all available procedural means and legal remedies to support its position before the competent authorities and courts, confident that the merits of its arguments and the evidence submitted will be properly assessed within the applicable proceedings.
