UniCredit Bank announces, in a worldwide premiere, the first credit card offered by a banking institution to an artificially intelligent robot - Sophia the Robot, the humanoid robot created by Hanson Robotics. Sophia will personally pick up her card during an event organized by UniCredit Bank.

Thus, starting May 10th, 2018, Sophia will benefit from all the benefits of a fully functional UniCreditCard Premium issued under the MasterCard.
Sophia is the latest and most advanced robot of the American company Hanson Robotics. Since its creation, in April 2015, Sophia has become a global phenomenon due to its expressiveness and ability to engage in natural conversations with people. In October 2017, the robot became a Saudi Arabian citizen, the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.
