Beware of fraud schemes impersonating the Romanian Tax Authority (ANAF)!

Individuals claiming to represent the Romanian Tax Authority (ANAF) or bank representatives may contact you by phone and inform you that you are entitled to a tax refund. They may then ask you to install remote access applications, access links received via SMS or email, complete forms containing personal or banking information, or make payments to “unlock” the refund.
Never disclose personal or banking information, passwords, PINs, or OTP codes, and never make transfers at the request of unknown individuals.

• Verify any information exclusively through the official channels of ANAF and your bank.
• Do not install remote access applications based on instructions received over the phone.
• Do not access unsolicited links and do not authorize transactions that you did not personally initiate.


If you suspect fraud, end the conversation immediately and contact your bank without delay.
