OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR FISHERIES AND MARITIME AFFAIRS mainly supports increasing the competitiveness and added-value in the fisheries and aquaculture sector by supporting activities throughout the entire value chain and strengthen links from production to market, creation and support of advisory services for fisheries and aquaculture sector, strengthening collaboration between fishermen / aquaculture farmers and experts, including with the RDI sector and partnership-type actions under measures to be selected, promote sustainable fisheries, investments in aquaculture (new units, modernization of the existing units, diversification of species), new sources of revenues in the sector (processing, marketing activities), diversification of fishing and aquaculture sector through support for the creation of new small enterprises and new jobs in this field.

Priorities

Operational Programme for Fisheries and Maritime Affairs is in accordance with the Priorities in this field of the European Union, as follows:

  • Priority 1: Promoting environmentally sustainable, resource efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge–based fisheries;
  • Priority 2: Fostering environmentally sustainable, resource efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge–based aquaculture;
  • Priority 3: Fostering the implementation of the CFP;
  • Priority 4: Increasing the employment of the workforce and increasing territorial cohesion;
  • Priority 5: Stimulation of trade and processing.
