3D Secure News!


Starting with 10.06.2017, the new 3D Secure usage conditions will bring modifications to the way it validates and identifies the owner of the account, of which the card owner and/or card user is acknowledged and accepted by the account owner, as having acces to the ammount present in the cards account, as well as any changes brought to the way that payment transactions are validated on the 3D Secured enabled sellers sites. (The platform is verified by Visa and/or MasterCard® SecureCode™).

The Advantages of the dynamic password for the 3D Secure Service!

Increased security for online card payments. Being temporary and unique, the dynamic password is available exclusively for the validation of the transaction for which it was generated.

Memorizing a password is no longer necessary.

The dynamic password allows for the automatic activation of the 3D Secure Service. Starting from 10.06.2017, activating the service on the Bank’s website, in order to receive the identification info (user code/ password), will no longer be necessary.

What do you need to do?

It couldn’t be easier! To allow the receival of the dynamic password, the Card Owner needs to make sure that the phone number provided to the bank is valid, for both the main cards and the supplementary ones, that are used by the acknowledged and accepted Users. The phone numbers can be provided/updated by calling our Info Center at +40 21 200 2020 (regular fee for calls made through the Telekom Romania land network) or at *2020 (regular fees for calls made through the Orange, RCS&RDS, Telekom Romania, Vodafone mobile networks) or by visiting any of the UniCredit Bank’s branches.

In case that, by 10.06.2017, the owner does not provide/ update the phone numbers for both him and the card User, the Bank won’t be able to provide further access to the 3D Secure Services. Details regarding the Rules and usage conditions of the 3D Secure Service can be found here.
