According to Law 677/2001 (modified and abridged) requirements for people’s protection regarding handling of personal data and its free circulation, and Law 506/2004 for handling personal data and private life protection in the electronic communication sector, UniCredit Bank SA has the obligation to manage, in safety conditions and only for the specified purposes, the personal data you provide about yourself, about a member of your family or another person. According to legal regulations in force, and in order to be able to process the funds transfer abroad or specially authorized transfers, you have the obligation to provide us with the data requested in the transfer order. Without this data, it is impossible to process transfers.

When making a funds transfer abroad and specially authorized transfers, the customer’s data requested for the transfer are transferred from Global Interbanking Financial Telecommunication Society (SWIFT) to the financial institution of the transfer beneficiary. This organization is the only one active in the world and has its headquarters in Belgium. For system security reasons, SWIFT stores the transaction data for a certain period of time in its data centres located in the Netherlands and the United States of America.

Purpose of data collection is: (i) development of bank financial services, (ii) marketing, advertising and publicity, (iii) credit reports, (iv) debt collection / debt recovery (v) insurance and reinsurance and other purposes : fraud prevention, swiftnet fin services. Purpose of processing is registered in the data processing  register of ANSPDCP under number 10,964, according to Law no. 677/2001;

According to Law 677/2001, you have the right to access and intervene on this data, the right of not being subjected to an individual decision and the right to resort to justice. However, you are entitled to oppose the processing of your personal data and request deletion of data *. In order to exercise these rights, you can submit to UniCredit Bank SA a written, dated and signed request, together with a copy of your identity document. You can also resort to justice. If some of your data is incorrect, please inform us as soon as possible.
The reason for posting this information is the recommendation from the National Personal Data Handling Supervision Authority as a reaction to USA authorities’ access to the transferred data to the SWIFT centres located in the USA for purposes of combatting international terrorism.

* Everyone has the right to oppose, for legitimate reasons, the processing of the data concerning them.  This right of opposition may be excluded for certain data processing provided by law  (eg.: Processing executed by financial and tax services, police, justice, social security). Therefore, the statement may not appear if data processing is mandatory;
* Everyone is also entitled to object, free of charge and without any justification, to the processing of personal data for direct marketing purposes.
